Greenwich

Royle Studios, Unit 2 , 23-41 Wenlock Road , London , N1 7SG , United Kingdom
Haptic Architects has won planning approval for six affordable, net-zero-carbon homes on a disused garage site on Viola Avenue, Abbey Wood, for the Greenwich Builds council housing programme. Part of a wider commission delivering 23 homes across seven small sites, the project demonstrates the potential of infill development to address London’s housing shortage. The two-storey homes create a clear street rhythm while maximising green space, daylight and ventilation, with minimal impact on neighbours. Built from durable, low-maintenance materials and set within biodiversity-rich landscaping, the all-electric, fossil-free scheme promotes healthy, sustainable living for local residents.
