Sandymoor school is a new free school established by the residents of Sandymoor, Cheshire. Halliday Meecham Architects worked with the school from opening in temporary accommodation through to the design and delivery of a bespoke 900 place building. The accommodation is arranged over three floors to reflect the requirements of the school curriculum. The two principle teaching wings are arranged around a triple height central atrium which contains dining and performance space and opens onto a landscaped courtyard. A palette of materials including brick, glass and coloured panels tie the two wings together.
