Listed Building - Grade I, Alteration to existing property
The Coach House , 29 Kedleston Road , Derby , DE22 1FL , United Kingdom
Kelham Hall is a Grade I listed former country house in Kelham, Nottinghamshire. The present hall was designed by the prominent Victorian architect George Gilbert Scott in 1863 in the Gothic Revival style, with parts of the earlier hall still remaining. The site also features an impressive Byzantine-styled Great Chapel (known as 'The Dome'), constructed by the Society of the Sacred Mission in 1925, during their ownership. We have been appointed to provide masterplan proposals for the 44 acre site, as well as initial concept designs for the sensitive conversion and development of various parts of the buildings, in order to ensure a sustainable future for this historically significant area. Another architectural component of the scheme is to extend and enhance the existing wedding and corporate facilities on offer. The grounds currently feature areas of woodland, paths and lawn. It is the intention that landscaping works be incorporated into the proposals, which will define, restore and create functional and attractive spaces within the garden areas and across the wider site.
