The Tynemouth Castle Inn is an iconic structure in the North East coast, now revitalised through a sensitive refurbishment and extension. Our designs honour the building’s original Art Deco character, reinstating seafront views with Juliette balconies and enhancing its presence within the Cullercoats Conservation Area. Acting as architect and principal designer, we delivered a two-storey extension adding 20 new bedrooms, alongside further extensions to accommodate Oswin’s fish and chip takeaway and the Cones ice cream parlour on Grand Parade. The project also includes a fully refurbished and expanded kitchen supporting upgraded bar and restaurant areas, as well as enhanced external facades, seating, and landscaping to elevate the guest experience. This flagship hotel is one of several projects we are delivering for The Inn Collection Group, including the significant renovation and redevelopment of a number of Lake District inns.
