Gruhe participated in 'Gateway goes for Guild', a RIBA design competition which attracted 74 entries. Assisted by Morrison Associates who put a cost estimate together, Gruhe designed 4 different affordable house types to Housing Quality Indicator & Lifetime Homes requirements creating a total of 14no. units on an urban site in Preston. Gruhe's submission was taken forward into a second round prior to the selection of 4 finalists.
