This simple single storey extension transformed the basement of an existing Victorian terrace property in South-East London. The demolition of two out buildings at the rear, which once housed the bathroom and little toilet, has made room for a spacious living area acting as the transition from kitchen to garden. The slate patio and white render retain walls gives the perfect stage for the ceder cladding which surrounds the three part sliding doors. The scheme created a new bright and airy bathroom with a slim roof light precisely positioned to give a slot of light which frames the bath. An additional bathroom was carved from the two bedrooms on the first floor to provide a much needed family bathroom whilst retaining two good sized bedrooms.
