Located in the St Leonards Conservation Area the proposal has been conceived as a contemporary interpretation of the grand stucco Georgian villas. It provides a restrained and formal elegance that has been designed to capitalise on the landscape setting, views and light. The ground floor footprint extends beyond the upper floors to establish a plinth, an anchor to the site; a double height void leads to the piano nobile level; the compact attic level serves as a penthouse master suite. Internal spaces have been carefully studied, exercises in volumetric interplay and manipulation of light within the structured plan and form, driven by the ambition to merge the interior with the outside.
