gbs have designed a new mental health centre for 11 to 18 year olds in a cruciform layout with dynamic rooflines to give an edgy, modern feel, far removed from the traditional concept of an 'institution'. In addition to the clinical provision, the supporting facilities include family rooms, games rooms, quiet spaces, lounges and facilities for day patients. On the first floor there is a large teaching area surrounded by art, gym and music rooms to give a dedicated educational environment.
