New Build
Seafield, Scarlett is an austere, isolated building overlooking a rocky bay on the Isle of Man. We are working closely with our clients, who have a young family, to shape this house to their needs whilst retaining its architectural integrity. With close attention to the environmental conditions of the site – the brisk and directional sea breeze, and the path of the sun around the building - we are making a series of connected outdoor landscaped spaces, including a swimming pool, orchard, bbq terrace and drinks terrace, to make best use of the sheltered gardens to the North East of their land. We are working with a local conservation architect on an extension that more than doubles the floor area of the house, in this conservation protected area. We are introducing light scoops and roof lights to bring natural light down into the centre of the house, and re-focussing the house around spacious new contemporary family rooms.
