In late 2004 Glazzards were commissioned by Great Barr School to design a new music teaching department. The brief requirements included 4 large class bases with shared group practice and ensemble rooms together with recording/music technology facilities for advanced level students. The challenge was to create a building that provided flexibility fo rhte secondary school music curriculum on two floors all in accordance with the DFES Design and Acoustic requirements, all within a very limited budget. Construction commenced in April 2005 and the project and the project was completed on time and within budget in October of the same year.
