New Build
Glazzard Architects Ltd , Graingers Porcelain Works , Unit 9, St Martins Quarter, Silver Street , Worcester , Worcestershire , WR1 2DA , United Kingdom
This project provides a purpose-built, energy-efficient manufacturing facility serving as the new headquarters for a well-established local producer of professional audio equipment. The building adopts a simple and robust architectural language, taking the form of a large barn-like volume that prioritises flexibility and efficiency. The clear-span structure allows the internal layout to adapt to changing production requirements while maintaining straightforward circulation between manufacturing, assembly and administrative areas. The architecture makes deliberate use of carefully detailed standard construction elements, enabling an economical and pragmatic approach to the build while maintaining a coherent and refined industrial character. Generous rooflights and large windows introduce significant levels of natural daylight into the workspace and provide views across the surrounding landscape, improving the quality of the working environment throughout the factory. Landscape design forms an integral part of the project. A balancing pond forms part of the sustainable drainage strategy, while wildflower-covered bunds provide both site security and enhanced biodiversity, creating a calm and attractive setting for employees and visitors alike.
