A site with a previous planning history of failure due to its prominent position in a conservation area, and next to a busy trunk road. The earth sheltered solution is an ideal way to provide energy efficient accommodation whilst maintaining the illusion of open space. The south facing slope provides a source of solar energy and extensive views. Using our knowledge of heat storage we were able to design a building which will enhance the local area, add value to an undeveloped site, and provide our clients with a way of living a virtually carbon neutral lifestyle.
