gcp’s knowledge of PassivHaus was key to delivering this large family home overlooking open countryside. Working closely with the client to realise their design objectives, gcp optimised the design and construction method to create a bright, spacious and very energy efficient family home. Using Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF) construction and working with a local contractor the client managed the build process with support from gcp. The innovative construction method enabled a speedy build program and made achieving the stringent air-tightness requirement of PassivHaus relatively straightforward. The Home has now been certified to PassivHaus Standard by the International PassivHaus Institute.
