This farm cottage & barn redevelopment project for repeat developer clients was completed in 2016. Outbuildings and a small farm cottage have been renovated and linked together by a single storey extension, creating a new open plan living area with views out to the surrounding garden and farmland. The design is a contemporary, craft based, take on this genre, with sympathetic, natural materials & a thermally efficient building envelope. The building becomes more open & permeable moving from the front facing entrance courtyard, with its controlled views and glimpses of the internal & garden spaces beyond, through generous circulation, to the main vaulted living spaces that focus on the south facing garden and views beyond.
