Gatti Routh Rhodes were appointed by Bethnal Green Mission Church in 2014, in partnership with Thornsett Group. Our brief was to design a new church and community centre, funded by residential units in a key conservation area - the site is diagonally opposite John Soane's St John on Bethnal Green. The concrete and CLT scheme comprises a double height church to the ground and first floors, with community facilities in a well-lit basement and on the first floor. Key worker and private residential accommodation is located on the upper floors. The project started on site in April 2016.
