5.1.2 The Leather Market , 11-13 Weston Street , Bermondsey , London , Greater London , SE1 3ER , United Kingdom

In the present condition the site represented an enormous challenge - quarrying has left parts of the site unusable, the derelict Greenhithe Abbey needs restoration, its heritage, artefacts and follies lie in ruin. The firm was initially commissioned to prepare a development framework which provided the means of addressing the constraints and opportunities to resurrect the heritage, creating a valuable backcloth for a quality housing design which we are currently progressing. Design builds on the inherent site attributes; series of distinct character areas created; remodeled levels enhance buildability; full remediation strategy; range of dwelling types from 550 sqft 1 bed flats to 1550 sqft town houses; site specific design enables densification; 22000 sqft per acre achieved in "Village Quarter" with 2/3 storey housing; discreetly located resident car parking.
