The new Community Pavilions is about establishing a new public anchor at the heart of a conservation area in the rural fishing town of Eyemouth. The 1.4M capital project is a catalyst to reinvent the wider harbour area, create a new public realm and support a new marine economy to revive the harbour. Our client was the private Eyemouth Harbour Trust and the capital project as funded by the Scottish Government and Scottish Borders Council. Galmstrup Architects was selected among 34 open call entries to work with the trust and their community to develop all RIBA stage of works including the brief, community engagement, planning application within a Conservation Area as well as site inspection and the temporary Public Realm along the harbourfront with neighbors and students from the local high school. “I’m mightily grateful, personally and on behalf of EHT, for the amount of enthusiasm and sheer hard work that the Galmstrup team have put into this project. I really do feel it’s in good hands.” Christine Bell - CEO, Eyemouth Harbour Trust
