FBA were appointed to design and obtain planning approval for a contemporary environmentally friendly family home. The design responds to its setting, the elongated forms reflecting the flatlands of the surround fens. The house makes best use of the views to Ely cathedral to the north and embraces the sunlight to the south. The building utilises rainwater harvesting, an air source heat pump and a bank of photovoltaic panels to reduce its water and energy use.
