About the practice

The office is client focussed and prides itself on delivering projects from inception to completion working closely with local Planning Authorities to secure planning permissions on a wide range of projects in rural and urban settings. The office portfolio includes residential, commercial, mixed-use developments and projects in Conservation Areas and/or those requiring Listed Building consents. The practice is happy to undertake projects from feasibility through to practical completion or provide a service tailored for each stage modelled around the RIBA Small Project Plan of Work Regular duties include the production of building control and tender documentation followed by contract administration and project management of site works. The practice has close links with reliable and skilled builders, engineers and quantity surveyors to assist in bringing projects to life, a good working relationship exists with Local Authorities and Private Building Control providers. The Building Safety Act 2022 introduced new legislation to improve safety standards in construction projects. In doing so, it amended the roles of principal contractors and principal designers for the purposes of building regulations. As a result of the reforms, from 1 October 2023, all construction projects apart from a few limited exceptions must appoint two ‘principal duty holders’ - a ‘principal designer’ and a ‘principal contractor’. I am required to make a Completion of Works Declaration as Principal Designer through the controlling authorities
