Listed Building - Grade II, Alteration to existing property
Upper Treverward Clun Craven Arms , Ludlow , Shropshire , SY7 8LY , United Kingdom
In a remote location overlooking the Ironbridge Gorge, anecdotally once a Catholic Schoolroom, but believed to have been built as a summer house for the Abraham Darby family, this Grade II Listed Building lay unused and unloved. Purchased by my client with courage and vision, together with encouragement from local Planners and Conservation Officer, this delightful building is now a holiday cottage. Within its single cell structure and pyramidal roof, a sleeping gallery has been inserted providing more space but without loosing the sense of original volume. A compact kitchen and shower room extension was added to complete the accommodation. The builders excellent workmanship and superb joinery, combined with the clients original colour scheme compliment the architects design.
