This is an ongoing project spanning Modernism and Conservation. A previous Planning and Listed Building consent allowed a very large extension to a tiny octagonal two storey historic structure. At conception stage, agreement was reached with the Planning and Conservation Officers to a new scheme which separated the conservation of the existing building and the extended accommodation. This has enabled a contemporary new build house with the restored historic structure converted to an annex. The new build will be a 'Carbon-neutral' building using a large pool as an energy reserve combined with Ground Source Heating technology and 'thin-film' PV panels concealed on the roof as the power source. Planning and Listed Building consents have been granted in 2017. The project is now in Detailed Design.
