Francis Turner was commissioned in 2008 to provide a sketch scheme master plan for developing Admaston House, to enable a number of possible phases to be implemented, possibly in different sequences. A Lottery award provided finance to proceed to RIBA stage D and obtain planning consent for the first 2 phases which provides a foyer, 2 meeting rooms, kitchen and toilets in a link building to a future hall. Lottery funding to supplement a further capital input from a major user with charitable status enable construction to start in late 2009. The project was complete and opened in September 2010 within budget. The project was extended to enable the fit out of the kitchen following further separate funding, enabling it to be used in conjunction with Telford College of Arts and Technology as a training kitchen for college students in addition to its community function.
