Black Isle House is a design for a flat-pack home in the Scottish countryside, using CLT panels and LVL columns to create an open and dramatic country home. The design takes advantage of pre-fabrication to reduce the time on site, and associated project risks and costs. The prefabricated timber panels increase accuracy to ensure airtightness and outstanding energy performance. High specification glazing provides a dramatic view without compromising environmental performance.? The simple forms and minimal approach allows the proposal to be open and modern, but remain sensitive to the local industrial agricultural vernacular.
