The design intention for the architecture is to create a building that is firmly rooted in its locale. The form and palette of materials are mainly contemporary elements whilst the style is rural and modest – not pastiche and certainly not ‘suburban’ in style. It has also purposely not been conceived as a showcase design that alienates it from other properties and surrounding area – it is intended to disappear, to be one with the hillside.
