New Build
The South Suite Heliting House , 35 Richmond Hill , BOURNEMOUTH , Dorset , BH2 6HT , United Kingdom
This project is a self build PassivHaus to replace an existing dwelling, which is located on Nadder River in Salisbury. The river is one of the main tributaries of the Salisbury Avon and is a chalk stream river which is one of only 200 in the world. This river forms the basis of the inspiration for the architectural concept. The building is visualised a piece of chalk lying on the edge of the river, partially eroded to reveal the rough rugged textures of flint that typically lie on the river bed. Remnants of the original white chalk stone are referenced into the building’s strong pure forms and predominately pure white exterior. The crystal clear waters that are typical of these rivers are symbolised in the moments of transparency within the building, where the lines between outdoor and indoor living are blurred. The proposal aims to create a comfortable living environment with minimal impact on the surrounding context. The proposed fenestration on the south facade incorporates environmental credentials such as solar shading and the scheme will be designed to Passsive House standards. We specialise in self build and PassviHaus projects, but have completed many successful loft conversions, extensions and refurbishments. We challenge every brief, applying creative thinking and realising the potential of your project. If you have a residential project you’d like to speak to an architect about, or get a quote for, then please feel free to get in contact.
