As part of the expansion of the existing MRI / CT department, it is proposed that the CT activity currently co-located within the MRI / CT area will expand to form a separate outpatient CT area. This proposed CT department will include 1no. CT scanning room with associated ancillary support functions. A key driver is the separation of inpatient and outpatient flows into the CT department. The project will include some refurbishment to the existing building and also a new building extension. As part of the works a new outpatient entrance will be formed, serving both MRI and CT. The new entrance is part of the Trust’s Covid19 strategy to reduce the number and mixing of patient groups within the hospital.
