Proposals on the site of the old Canal Basin for a new student accommodation block creating 240 beds. A new pedestrian street will be created to improve links to the Canal. The scheme also incorporates two retail units. Materials proposed are a mixture of red/white brick and precast concrete to tie in with the existing buildings around the current Canal Basin. All bedrooms incorporate pre-fabricated pod en-suite bathrooms, communal facilities including social lounges, a laundry, management suite and cinema room.
