The sensitive transformation of a Victorian relic in Bedfordshire into a spacious home for a young family to grow Our proposal for this rear extension to a Victorian terrace in Bedfordshire re-works the existing layout into a generous family home. The new centralised kitchen becomes the heart of the house, spilling out to the dining space at the rear. A challenging level change across the site allowed for a terracing of the ground floor, creating subtle delineations of space within the newly open-plan ground floor. Pared back material choices and exposed beams create a clean lines and an honest expression of the structural elements.
