About the practice

Fern Architecture is a small practice providing sustainable, comfortable and thoughtful architecture. I am focused on residential and small commercial work. Environmental sustainability is a key consideration in all projects. I aspire to provide sustainable solutions for all budgets and requirements. I am a member of the AECB and have good knowledge of Passive House. I work on projects of varying scope and scale, from new-builds, through to larger extensions, renovations and small permitted development extensions. I believe in Architecture of its time and place, following the principles of Contemporary Vernacular. This means responding positively to a location, considering all site, climate and cultural influences, but without attempting to imitate the traditional. Instead it responds to these factors with modern technologies and design principles.
