The University has an established and renowned medical school with a reputation for teaching excellence. Its undergraduate students spend much of their time at the Milton Keynes University Hospital gaining valuable experience and knowledge. In support of this relationship, Buckingham University has commissioned Feilden+Mawson to design their new £6m Academic Centre that will be located on a prominent site at Milton Keynes University Hospital. Its 2000sqm will accommodate seminar rooms, simulated wards and operating theatre and will supported by seminar rooms, a 150-seat lecture theatre and associated other spaces. When completed in 2017, the Centre will provide the University and Hospital with flexible facilities to suit both of their teaching needs. This in turn will strengthen the students’ learning experience and the ties between both Buckingham University and Milton Keynes University Hospital.
