Our brief was to convert the basement of this ground floor flat within a period house and also to create a new separate entrance to the property to make it feel more like a house in its own right A large new light well was created, significantly glazed so the the basement floor did not feel like a below ground space. A new steel and oak stair, exposed beams and exposed brick give the basement a industrial loft vibe.
