Portal Way is a student accommodation led mixed use development. The project was named Lyra Court and is home to 209 student studios. The development is in Acton, North West London directly adjacent to the central line. The project is two buildings set in new public realm spaces including a biodiversity park and new pedestrian links to the surrounding area. The buildings 7 and 8 storeys high have dynamic coloured facades with window openings expressed using white extruded picture frame surrounds and coloured reveals. Each studio contains kitchenette, ensuite, study area, sitting and sleeping area in floor areas between 17.5 and 21sqm. The buildings include secure access and on site management suites along with common rooms, laundry and cafe facilities. The building completes a student accommodation masterplan adjacent to the station led by Ealing council.
