The magnificent Municipal Buildings on Dale Street has been converted into a luxury four-star hotel, and has welcomed guests since May 2023. Our design included a four-storey extension to the rear of the existing Grade II* listed building, providing a contrast to the existing building in its modernity but subservient in scale with bronze colour cladding and glass detailing. The conversion of such an iconic building requires a sensitive refurbishment. The highly decorative spaces and existing window pattern are integral to the new design and dictate the division of rooms across the scheme. The grand entrance remains on Dale Street and the finished hotel provides outstanding facilities; unique guest suites, spa, gym and spectacular top lit swimming pool. The hotel will also boast excellent conference and meeting facilities and a restaurant spilling into the atrium.
