One Central Park is a luxury condominium development located at the heart of Desa ParkCity in Kuala Lumpur. The development comprises 359 luxury apartments arranged over 45 storeys and was conceived as a sustainable model of high-density parkland living by Glenn Jeffrey whilst an owner of Urban Research Lab. The building is orientated to capture the prevailing northeasterly / southwesterly breezes to naturally ventilate the apartments and common areas. Recesses between the apartments contain pocket gardens to the common areas and allow views out from of the building from all areas of the circulation spaces to assist with orientation. Water captured from rainwater harvesting is used for irrigating the extensively landscaped grounds and podium park whilst photovoltaic panels assist with providing power for the communal areas. The building is Green Building Index Certified. At the ground floor the entrance to the lobby is via large 3 storey communal garden rooms where the landscaped gardens are seamlessly integrated into the building. These spaces are where chance meetings with fellow residents occur and friendships are created. Reading and relaxation spaces are located in this area contrasting with the active spaces of the podium park where the gym, tennis courts and swimming pools are located.
