This 4 bedroom house in Rhoscolyn has been doubled in size to become an 8 bedroom house. A distinct steel clad section connects the existing house to the new two storey extension. The chimney gable design is sympathetically mirrored by the new extension. An attractive secluded site allows for lots of glazing, including a Juliet balcony in the master bedroom, to connect the building with landscape and give views out over the Irish Sea. A raised terrace alongside the bedrooms means the family can catch the last rays of sunshine in the evenings. The client wanted to respect the existing house by replicating the pebble-dash render, stone walls and slate roofs that are traditional around North Wales.
