We added a simple modern single storey extension to this pretty semi in a leafy London suburb and reordered the ground floor to include a cloakroom and generous entrance hall. Large frameless roof lights allow light to flood into the new kitchen and garden room and original dining room beyond. The extension is built of gault bricks carefully matched to the existing and includes black Crittal windows and doors both inside and out. Carefully chosen materials and detailing together with a high build quality have allowed the extension to blend in with the original 1920’s house whilst having a bright, light contemporary feel. Internal materials have been kept to a clean palette of porcelain tiled flooring , white and deep green flush kitchen units and worktops, with mahogany breakfast bar and trims.
