The existing thatched house is in a conservation area and the client wanted to redevelop the main house to improve the layout and increase the amount of light entering the building particularly on the ground floor. The house did not have any insulation of note and was very cold in the winter. Therefore it was proposed to revamp the whole house thermally. In addition to this, an extension was added to the house to create an open plan living space and kitchen with a new garage and utility room.
