Wilmcote House involved the refurbishment of three linked 11-storey residential blocks to the Passivhaus EnerPHit standard. As such the building has been clad in high-quality non-combustible mineral wool insulation and the homes have been fully compartmented to prevent the spread of fire between flats both internally and externally. An important step for the improvement of affordable homes, Wilmcote House continues to be studied by university and industry organisations, presented and published within the press, and recognised by awards. This project was Winner of the RICS Awards – Design Through Innovation category; RICS Awards – Regeneration category; Constructing Excellence Awards – Sustainability Category; and SHIFT Awards – Best Retrofit Project category.
