Newham
The redevelopment of James Riley Point (JRP) reinvents this 23-storey semi-derelict residential tower and places it at the heart of its community. Constructed in the late 1960’s, the tower rises above the street on eight sculptural columns. The innovative refurbishment of the tower, combined with new build community and sports facilities that, in consultation with residents, rethinks this historic building’s future and creates a fluid, permeable landscape of interconnected pavilions, community and sports spaces configured with curvilinear and sawtooth forms that engage the surrounding streetscape and act as a counterpoint to the rigid geometry of the tower.
