This project turned a 1970’s dairy depot into a vocational training facility for Bromley Beacon – an academy for students with social, emotional and mental health needs. This transformation required a full strip out and refurbishment as the building was in a very poor state. The new design optimises the space separating it into workshops and classrooms/ offices, as well as providing ‘time out’ areas to support student’s needs. The redevelopment not only focused on utilising the space available, but also on the health and safety of its users, so providing more natural lighting, ventilation and more security across the site.
