The original rather utilitarian 1970's house in Oxfordshire was remodelled to create a contemporary dwelling. The project comprises a ground floor side and first floor extension and complete reconfiguration. A careful cost-effective internal re-planning extension and refurbishment provided increased ground floor living space, a larger master bedroom with en-suite, additional bedrooms, a utility room, and pantry space. The open plan kitchen / dining area is flooded with natural light by the use of two sets of windows which provides framed views of the established garden. The extensions ensured that no garden space was lost and significantly improved the energy efficiency through the well-constructed extensions. The exterior was given a new lease of life with white render, doubled-glazed windows and the ground floor extension included a rooflight and tiled roof to match the existing. The extensions ensured that no garden space was lost and significantly improved the energy efficiency through the well-constructed extensions. The finished alterations have created the contemporary house the clients wished for and the changes create a modern family home that now is much more suited to their lifestyles which they are thoroughly enjoying"
