"Recently completed single-storey orangery, first floor and garage extensions have been undertaken to update this detached 1970's house in Sarisbury Green, Southampton. The proposal has transformed the ground floor to create a light, airy and open environment. It comprises a new dining area, orangery and utility bringing views of the extensive garden and additional light into the property. The first floor provides a new master bedroom with dressing room and en-suite. It also provides additional bedroom accommodation and annexe living areas. The orangery extension provides a suitable connection between the existing house and extensive garden. Large glazed doors and triangular roof lights maximize the light in this area. Dark multi-brick matches the existing house and a corbelling detail provides a suitable finish. Gable dormers at the front are in keeping with the original form of the house and utilises the same material as the house. All new extensions are highly insulated to improve the sustainability credentials of the house.
