The masterplan included a 3.2 km road course and integrated rallycross track, a drag strip, kart track, driver training area, dirt oval speedway and off-road and 4x4 courses. Rockhampton has many motorsport clubs and events in the region, but many existing facilities either lacked suitable on-site infrastructure, were inappropriately located or required additional land for expansion. The Motorsports Precinct was designed to give the clubs a new place to call home, and offer more opportunities.
