Many of the provincial Crown and County Courts are housed in fine purpose built structures that were paragons of design in their day. Continuity of use has meant that many of the facilities are now antiquated and compromising. The integration of ever more onerous modern service requirements, lifts, ramps, handrails, computer screens etc., needs special consideration so as not adversely to affect the character and appearance of these fine buildings.
