Renowned for its opulent and gilded interiors' this Cardiff landmark is known for the Victorian additions made by the 3rd Marquis of Bute to the mediaeval castle, itself built over a C4th fort. The Practice has been appointed to implement a five year programme of repair to the external masonry including the battlement walls, towers, keep and The House, plus the refurbishment of the basement banqueting and entertaining suites. The work follows a comprehensive programme of research and is supported by a substantial grant from Heritage Lottery Fund
