Listed Building - Grade II, Sited in AONB
The Manor House on Rathlin Island was constructed around 1760 with various additions in the early & mid 19th Century. The building sits on a prominent site in front of the main harbour. The main elevation faces south over the harbour while the rear north elevation faces a steep and heavily planted bank. The building is constructed from a random rubble stone faced with a harling render. There are sandstone details around main entrance doors and sandstone cills to windows. The pitched roofs are covered in a natural slate. d-on architects ltd were commissioned by Rathlin Development & Community Association to restore and refurbish the Grade B+ Listed Building into hotel and restaurant accommodation.
