With a brief inspired by medical and pharmaceutical company B. Braun’s philosophy of ‘Sharing Expertise’, DLA Design were approached to design an architecturally striking addition to their UK Headquarters in Sheffield. As a flagship centre of knowledge and dialogue, the new £10 million ‘Innovation, Communication & Education Centre’ would be a leading global forum for professional development and training in the field of medicine, and an impressive showcase of the B. Braun product portfolio. Our creative response was to capture the imagination of the medical community with futuristic architecture that acted as a museum of the future for B-Braun’s cutting-edge medical technologies and techniques. When inside, visitors would be immersed in a world of 3D augmented reality visualisation suites, practical demonstration spaces, lecture theatres/auditoria and consulting rooms.
