Minories and Crosswall is located a few minutes’ walk from the Tower of London and Tower bridge in the historic Roman London Wall area. The project involved demolition of two existing buildings and the construction of a mixed use commercial and residential apartments. The project and design team had to negotiate various construction parameters such as a retained basement and nearby TFL tube line. The building is located in a key position with its masonry façade treatment complimenting the solid stone ramparts of the nearby Tower of London. Because of the building height, the project had to negotiate the Building Safety Regulator process, in us providing key technical information in collaboration with the other appointed consultants. The 17 apartments have a high finishes specification together with private terrace areas at the upper levels to the stepped façade to reduce the building mass. The project was for a highly valued client who we have personally worked with for over twenty years on various London project commissions.
