Wandsworth
£50,000 to £99,999
Within a Conservation Area
A relatively tight rear lean-to in this Wandsworth terrace house was transformed with a new glass extension and kitchen. A slender framed glazing system was used, designed with the minimum number of panels to maximise its visual outlook. Rustic oak was used for the doors, shelves and visible panels in the kitchen. Fair-face concrete was used for the kitchen worktops and ‘waterfall’. Existing flank walls were refurbished with fair-face London-stock brick, and reclaimed oak boards were used for the floor and matched to those in the existing dining space. The kitchen layout gave more open space and connection between the living and dining spaces, with the garden.
