Newton House is a large-scale new home with carefully designed outdoor living and entertaining spaces set in a rural Derbyshire location with wide views over the landscape. Our clients wanted to create a new property to live in when visiting the UK. The brief was to have five separate guest suites where friends and family could stay and enjoy their own independent space for several days at a time. Outdoor living was important to the client, so an outdoor kitchen and swimming pool along with a gymnasium were part of the commission. In addition, our clients required a summer house which could be used for entertaining separately, as well as housing an annexe where another family group could stay. Because of the unspoilt nature of the surrounding landscape, we had to ensure that the height of the roof and eaves of the new dwelling did not obstruct the horizon. We have created a masterful, very large home which is nonetheless at ease with its surroundings, works with the sun and seasons, and makes the most of the incredible views over the countryside.
